A woman in a mint-green dress sits on the edge of an ancient column that seems to melt and drip into the sea. Soap bubbles with iridescent reflections float in the air around her. A surreal scene about thoughts that rise like weightless spheres and then dissolve — about dreams, doubts and a moment of quiet alone with oneself.
Technique and details
The soft pastel palette — turquoise water, pearly bubbles and the mint-green folds of the dress — combines with a realistic painting style, heightening the waking-dream effect. Painted in 2023. Size: 110 × 160 cm; materials: canvas, oil paints. This is a one-of-a-kind original by Ukrainian artist Natali Kokhnichenko.
