A woman dreams

About the painting “A woman dreams”

A surreal female portrait in a monochrome palette. Sharp mountain peaks rise above the face of a woman with half-closed eyes, while strands of hair dissolve like mist. Here, the dream literally grows out of her thoughts — an image of the inner world, silence and the pursuit of new heights.

Technique and details

The work is executed in a restrained grey-and-white palette with subtle transitions of light and shadow, recalling drawing while keeping the depth and texture of oil painting. Painted in 2020. Size: 110 × 170 cm; materials: flax, oil paints. This is a one-of-a-kind original by Ukrainian artist Natali Kokhnichenko.

In the interior

This large 110 × 170 cm monochrome painting fits naturally into a modern, minimalist or Scandinavian interior — a living room, bedroom or study. It looks especially good on white, graphite or concrete walls.
