About the painting “Dreams come true”
A surreal monochrome portrait: the upper half of a woman’s face turns into a mountain lake with clouds and cliffs. Only the lips and chin remain visible — everything else becomes a dreamscape. The painting is about how an intention gradually takes shape and becomes reality.
Technique and details
Delicate handling of the grey palette, smooth tonal transitions and a crisp boundary between face and landscape create a double-image effect. Painted in 2020. Size: 130 × 100 cm; materials: flax, oil paints. This is a one-of-a-kind original by Ukrainian artist Natali Kokhnichenko.
In the interior
At 130 × 100 cm, this work makes a strong artistic statement in a modern living room, office, study or studio. The black-and-white palette suits minimalist, loft and Scandinavian interiors.
