Pantheon

About the painting “Pantheon”

A view upward between the columns of an ancient portico: mighty fluted columns with Corinthian capitals lead the eye to a richly ornamented coffered ceiling, with blue sky visible between them. The painting conveys the grandeur of Rome, a sense of eternity and our enduring admiration for architecture.

The strong worm’s-eye perspective and carefully rendered stonework create a sense of presence — as if you were standing beneath the vault yourself. Painted in 2020. Size: 70 × 130 cm; materials: canvas, oil paints. This is a one-of-a-kind original by Ukrainian artist Natali Kokhnichenko.
