Orchids

About the painting “Orchids”

A branch of white phalaenopsis orchids against a deep black background. The large petals with a barely perceptible cream tint and the bright pink-and-yellow centres seem to glow in the dark. The painting speaks of refinement, purity and quiet luxury.

Technique and details

The contrast of white and black accentuates the volume of the flowers; the artist conveys the delicate texture of the petals through fine transitions from white to pearl. Painted in 2024. Size: 120 × 80 cm; materials: canvas, oil paints. This is a one-of-a-kind original by Ukrainian artist Natali Kokhnichenko.
