Peony

About the painting “Peony”

A lush pink-and-white peony with lacy, ruffled petals. Golden stamens peek out between them, and dark green leaves emphasise the freshness of the bloom. The painting celebrates the luxury of May, tenderness and the joy of life.

Technique and details

The artist renders every wave of the petals with fine transitions from deep pink to white, creating an almost tactile sense of silk. Painted in 2021. Size: 80 × 100 cm; materials: canvas, linen, oil paints. This is a one-of-a-kind original by Ukrainian artist Natali Kokhnichenko.
